In a 1951 Scottish Junior Cup soccer tie, a 6 feet 2 inches tall right-winger of a semi-professional Scottish club Bonnyrig Rose scored a 30-yard goal against Broxburn Athletic. Of course Bonnyrig Rose lost the match 3–1, but this 21 year old footballer stood out on the pitch, both due to the energy that he displayed on the field and also due to his height.
